Millenium - Exist

"MILLENIUM is a Polish five-piece neo-progressive band with Polish vocals on their 1st album and English vocals dominating after their 2nd production, generally in the PENDRAGON and early MARILLION styles but also with some spices of PINK FLOYD and classical GENESIS. There are influences of older Polish bands like Collage (as you can in every Polish neo-prog band). A must have to fans of ARENA, PENGRAGON and IQ."

Eternal Wanderers - The Door to a Parallel World

ETERNAL WANDERERS is a progressive rock band from Moscow, formed by the Kanevsky sisters in 1997. Since the very beginning of their activity the musicians have been working with complex musical structures, trying to reproduce in sound everything that they love in progressive rock. In 1998 the band gave their first concert, after which they became an essential part of Moscow's underground scene, attracting the people with the uncommonness of their live performances, like using psychedelic slide shows on a big screen behind the stage. In 2006 the band's lineup finally stabilized, so soon after EW entered the studio to record their first full-length album, "The Door To A Parallel World", which took them more than a year. All the songs on this concept disc are lyrically uniform, telling of parallel worlds, fantastical planets etc. Musically it ranges from Prog-Metal instrumental passages to dreamy New-Age soundscapes. EW play Psychedelic Neo Prog with female vocals and may interest fans of MOSTLY AUTUMN, KARNATAKA, MAGENTA, PENDRAGON, THE BLACK NOODLE PROJECT, BLACKFIELD etc.

Cold Fairyland - Seeds on the Ground

For their next, and so far most recent studio release, Cold Fairyand did something completely different. As forewarned on their live effort, this latest excursion is an all out acoustic affair; in many ways similar to Green Carnation's The Acoustic Verses but with a distinct influence in compositional structure and overall sound from Chinese folk music. It's called Seeds on the Ground, and was issued in 2007.

The latest developments in the band are a few line-up changes; founding member Yong has left, while Xi JinE (keyboards) and Seppo M. Lehto (bass) have been added.

Cold Fairyland, ( Lěngkù Xiānjìng) is a music group based in Shanghai, China. Their style combines Eastern melodies and rhythms with Western symphonic rock and classical music. The band has two sides; classical and rock, which allows them to play in concert halls as well as in rock clubs. CFL's music has influences from Portishead, Dead Can Dance, Radiohead, early Genesis, Jethro Tull, Wong Faye and Dou Wei, and their genre is best described as progressive rock.

The name Cold Fairyland comes from a Chinese translation of one of Haruki Murakami's books (known in English as "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World") favored by Lin Di. The name reflects sometimes dark tones of their music.

Composer/arranger/keyboardist and pipa player Lin Di has been playing pipa since she was 4 years old. Her arrangement skills are bringing out often very surprising elements from the mix of cello/pipa/keyboards/bass/drums and guitar.

Cold Fairyland has released six albums, two in Taiwan (as Lin Di / Cold Fairyland) and four in China.

Performances include concerts in Europe, Japan and around China including The Beijing MIDI Music Festival 2004 and 2006. In 2004, Cold Fairyland contributed to the John Lennon Tribute of Yu Yin Tang Music and performed & recorded the song "Eleanor Rigby".

Strongly recommended to those who love instrumental music.!

The Science Group - A Mere Coincidence

Dark atmosphere, catchy stunners, dispersed stunners, high vocals, warm bass clarinet, weirdness. Awesome, and though this album might be lacking of something (like more longer songs) it is an avant-prog gem. One of my favourite albums. Weird science.

For fans of 5UU's, THINKING PLAGUE etc this is a must-have. These songs just are great!: Lost In Translation, Chimera, Parity, Scale Invarians and There Must Be Something.

The Science Group - Spoors

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4180

Formed in 1997 by Chris Cutler and composer and multi-instrumentalist Stevan Kovacs Tickmayer, this group's lineup also included in their two albums Bob Drake, Fred Frith, Claudio Puntin (from the Syntopia Quartet), Amy Denio and Mike Johnson (on the second album).
The two original members met already in 1981 in Tickmayer's home town of Novi Sad and then only met again in the 1990's when ReR, owned by Cutler, imported Tickmayer's albums. The relationship deepened when Tickmayer invited Cutler to collaborate with him on scoring film music and in 1996 the idea came up to record music together, revolving around those aforementioned texts. Tickmayer composed the music in both albums and the second album is instrumental.
Their music, avant-rock, also incorporated elements from contemporary classical and jazz music, giving them an avant-garde edge.

P.S.
Some changes from Volume One. These are Instrumental pieces, and the band is now a quartet. Stevan Kovacs Tickmayer, Bob Drake and Chris Cutler are joined by guitarist Mike Johnson of Thinking Plague. The music remains somewhere between intense contemporary complexity and rock - passing most points between. Tickmayer's compositional language is....unique and complex and extremely broad - no influence is seemingly outlawed, and this makes for a genuinely unclassifiable form that resembles nothing else I have ever heard.
